Building a

Grandfather Clock

from a Kit

I have always been fascinated with clocks.  Call it my 18th century curiosity, but the mechanical devices have always captured my imagination.  I've always wanted to make a big grandfather clock and I finally made my dream become reality.  Thanks to a wonderful company out of Canada called Colonial Times, they are in the business of making truly great clocks.

As this is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, I wanted to be sure to take plenty of pictures of the building process.  Once completed it will stand over 81" tall, weight countless hundreds of pounds, and has a top-of-the-line Hermle German mechanical movement.

Their Kit, as shown : Colonial Times - St. Laurent (Model H204)                My Kit : Completed.               Featuring the Hermle 1171-850/114cm Triple Chime Cable Wound Movement
